When Wilhelmina Goes Wandering debuted on April 1, 2014, the book attracted a lot of interest in Connecticut, where the true events occurred that it recounts. TV hosts interviewed John about the story, and Katie about her beautiful watercolor illustrations. The Day newspaper of New London, Connecticut, even sponsored a "Wilhelmina Goes Writing" competition for area elementary schools. The prize: A personal visit and reading by the author!
