It was a rather tall order: We wanted a voice artist who could perfectly capture the free spirit of our gal cow heroine Wilhelmina, her friends (human and animal), and the essence of the story that has touched thousands of people of all ages with its fable-like tale about the need we all feel to find our true home, the place where we are accepted and loved.
It was also an obvious choice. When Alabama-based voice artist Lia Frederick submitted her audition tape, there was never a doubt that we had found our Wilhelmina (and company)! Lia's voice acting in this digital audiobook captures the characters, and the emotion of the story, in a vocal recording that brings to life Katie Runde's watercolor illustrations that so beautifully evoke the New England countryside.
